The short version

Your voice is never stored — audio is processed live and discarded. Transcripts and scores are saved so you can see your progress, and they belong to you. No ads, no analytics trackers, no selling of data, ever. You can use Aplomb without an account and ask us to delete everything at any time.

1. Who we are

Aplomb (the app and this website) is operated by Cherry Home Unipessoal Lda., a company registered in Portugal (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@tryaplomb.com.

2. What we collect

3. Your voice

Aplomb is spoken out loud, so your microphone is central to how it works. We never store your audio. It is processed live and discarded; only the text transcript is kept. Audio leaves your device in three situations, and they are not the same:

4. How we use your data

We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use third-party analytics trackers.

5. Who processes your data

We use a small number of service providers to operate Aplomb:

These providers process your data on our behalf to provide the service, under their respective data processing terms. Data is encrypted in transit.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists so your progress is there when you return. You can delete your account and everything in it — transcripts, scores, progress, the account itself — from Profile → Delete account inside the app. It is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also email hello@tryaplomb.com and we will do it for you.

One thing deletion does not do

If you subscribed on iPhone or iPad, deleting your Aplomb account does not cancel your App Store subscription — only Apple can do that. Cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions before deleting your account, or you will keep being billed. Stripe subscriptions (Android and web) are cancelled automatically when you delete your account.

7. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (and in most other places), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@tryaplomb.com to exercise any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Portugal, the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados).

8. Children

Aplomb is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used Aplomb, contact us and we will delete their data.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “last updated” date, and flag significant changes in the app.
